The Japanese Shop, originally called ‘Doko Toko’, was established in 1998 to supply the rapidly growing interest in, and knowledge of, Japan and Japanese lifestyle.  Having been inspired by their experience of living in Japan, the founders, Jez and Hiromi Willard, developed a vision for their new business;

The Company went on to open shops in Harrogate, York and Chester as well as a Head Office distribution facility in Harrogate to service www.thejapaneseshop.co.uk which was launched in 2003.  The Company also introduced new corporate and wholesale divisions and has won several business awards, including;

The Japanese Shop Product Range

Our stylish range of Japanese products includes contemporary and traditional Japanese tableware, Kokeshi dolls, Japanese wall art, prints and pictures, Japanese Kimono, Bio Ion jewellery and ornaments which have a universal appeal due to their vibrant colours and designs.

Other more specialist interests are also catered for with beautiful Japanese Origami paper, Japanese lacquerware, Japanese Mizuhiki and organic Japanese incense and oils. Consistent with what you might expect in Japan, a FREE gift-wrapping service is available on all orders received through the online shop.
