Hi, I love The Japanese Shop, best thing in the world more
Clare

Furoshiki are made from 100% cotton and are a type of Japanese wrapping cloth that were traditionally used to carry clothes, gifts, or other goods. The name Furoshiki, meaning ‘bath spread’, derives from the traditional practice of using them to bundle clothes while at the sento or public baths.
Each year billions of plastic bags end up in landfill sites but Furoshiki are an eco-friendly wrapping cloth which promotes caring for the environment and reducing waste as they can be used over and over again. Using techniques similar to origami, they are now used primarily to protect and to decorate gifts or as a very attractive interior decoration, such as a table cloth.
