Hi, I love The Japanese Shop, best thing in the world more
Clare
Japanese Scrolls or kokejiku are intended to be hung against a wall as part of the interior decoration of a room. They are traditionally displayed in a room to enhance the display of prized objects, such as bonsai or ikebana, and can be easily and quickly changed to match the season or occasion. Scrolls were introduced to Japan during the Heian period, primarily for displaying Buddhist images for religious veneration, or to display calligraphy or poetry. From the Muromachi period, landscapes, flower and bird paintings, portraiture, and poetry became the favourite themes.
The Japanese Shop is delighted to offer you this selection of Japanese Scrolls which have been designed, made and hand painted by the award-winning artist Master Kosho Ogawa.
