It was published in 1857 as the thirtieth print in the One Hundred Famous Views of Edo series and depicts part of the most famous tree in Edo, the Sleeping Dragon Plum which had blossoms so white when full in bloom as to drive off the darkness! Made in Japan using the same traditional printing techniques as the original this is a superb quality Japanese woodcut print.
